When I was younger, I fell in love. It left scars and was terribly exciting and happened to be the first time I was ever in love.
Thankfully, it wasn't the last time but it made an immense impact, so that is what I write about: young love, first love, love that stays and lingers. I also write about being a mother, and issues of diaspora around belonging and connection.
I've written poetry, short stories and creative non-fiction for various literary magazines and journals in Canada, the UK, and the US. My debut novel, Someone Like You, was released Spring 2016 by a new Canadian publishing house called Two Wolves Press. My latest creative non-fiction piece, Six, is forthcoming Spring 2017 in the anthology Wherever I Find Myself: Stories by Canadian Immigrant Women published by Caitlin Press.
